A bit stuck?
Below are the problems that come up most often, and what you can do about them.
Guests can’t see the guest page
With Easy and Pro for life, your guest’s phone needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the Apple TV. If a guest is on a guest network that keeps devices apart, or on mobile data, it will not work. With Pro monthly, guests can also request over mobile data. Also check that the QR code is still on screen and scan it again.
The host app can’t find my Apple TV
If you play with the PartyЯ app on the Apple TV, switch it on. Make sure your iPhone is on the same network as the Apple TV, and allow the host app to use your local network (iPhone: Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network).
The code doesn’t work
On the TV, choose Pair host app and enter the code you then see. After three wrong attempts, a new code appears. Use Unpair host apps on the TV to remove all pairings.
Linking Plex, Jellyfin or Emby
First choose your media server on the Apple TV. For Plex, enter the code from the TV at plex.tv/link. With Jellyfin, use Quick Connect or your username and password; with Emby, sign in with your username and password. Then choose the library containing your clips.
Getting a YouTube key
For the YouTube connection in Pro you need your own YouTube key, free from Google. PartyЯ Beheer explains step by step how to request it.
Connecting Spotify
The Spotify connection is part of Pro. In phone mode you connect your own Spotify app once, with the step-by-step guide in PartyЯ Beheer; Spotify requires this. You need your own Spotify Premium.
Connecting Home Assistant
You install the PartyЯ integration for Home Assistant for free, but it only works with Pro. Then pair PartyЯ Beheer: the code for it appears in Home Assistant under notifications. That is how the integration knows you have Pro.
A clip has poor picture or sound
Block it in the host app, on the current song or in the queue. It then won’t play again and disappears from the list guests see. You can restore it under Blocked clips.
Some songs are much louder than others
Turn on Volume levelling in the host app. Songs that are louder than the rest are then turned down a little. PartyЯ measures the upcoming songs in the background. A song that PartyЯ still has to measure plays at normal volume.
A song has a long intro
While it’s playing, press Start here or End here in the host app or in the menu on the TV. You can fine-tune it second by second under Trimmed clips.
